Apache Indians
The result of colonization on the Apache Indians had a profound effect on their way of life, not only was their disease implemented into the culture, but land disputes, dispossession and frontier wars.
The Apache Indians rarely stayed in the same place, they often traveled looking for richer land (Food, water etc.). But after the Europeans colonized in their land, there way of life changed forever. The white settlers started to colonize in west Texas after they discovered how resourceful the land actually was. The Europeans brought many things that were new to the natives including disease, food and clothing.
The impact of disease became a major issue once the Europeans began to colonize. The natives had no immunity to any of the sicknesses that the settlers brought therefore once a native was affected by any illness or disease, the person was very likely to perish. Over one third of the population of Apache Indians where killed as a result of disease.
During the era of the Apaches, there were many land disputes occurring for the apaches were always trying to claim land. This often resulted in the killing of other tribes and sometimes the Apaches themselves. Often it was the apaches that benefited, but in the rare occasion that they were defeated, many resources were given to the other tribes.
Overall the Apaches were greatly affected once the white colonizers invaded the tribe. The Apaches were defeated by the impact of disease and dispossession on their tribe. It destroyed their hunting habits and resulting in the remaining Apaches fleeing to Northern Mexico.
